Whether you’re adding one student or 1,000 students, Sports Tracker makes adding new students easy for you. Depending on the number of students you want to add, you can choose between adding manually or using the import student option. This tutorial shows you how to do both.
Step 1: Choose an organization then go to the Student tab. From there, various options will be available for you to use. If you’re going to add a few students (e.g. 1 to 5), proceed to Step 2. If you’re going to add multiple students (e.g. 6 or more), proceed to Step 3.
Step 2: To add a new student manually, click the Student Menu button then Create New Student then enter the student’s name, email address, date of birth, the team where he/she belongs, and his/her login credentials. Don’t forget to click the Save button.
Step 3: If you would like to add multiple students or if you just signed up for a Sports Tracker account and you want to add all of your students into your account, you can use the Import CSV file option .(Import it by batches of 150 students to avoid timing out.)
In the Student tab, click the Student Menu button then Import CSV.
Step 4: At this step you will be guided through the import process with the CSV importer. Note that your CSV file must have the following format;
- First Name & Last Name as separate columns
- Email (required. if no email, leave the column blank)
- Date of Birth in dd/mm/yyyy format
- Gender (Male or Female)
- Student Year Level eg Year 7
If a student does not have an email address, you can leave this field blank. Also, if your school does not run DOB based meets then you can apply a generic DOB for all students.
Step 5: Now that the new students have been added to your organization, Sports Tracker will automatically add their names in the Students tab as shown below.
Step 6: If you wish to edit or delete a student, you can do so at any time by clicking the small delete icon.
